While we have no money, one thing my partner and I really get a bit of joy from is a really good bargin buy. For him, it’s the weekly/monthly Humble Bundle of games for his Steam account (if they’re games he likes of course), for me it’s buys from eBay and charity shops. My latest purchase, for the princely sum of £7.48 (including p&p) was a gorgeous maxi dress by Nomads.
Actually, that’s a lie, I bought this about a week ago, and today I bought a brown linen skirt from Scope for £1.50! I’m not sure of the fit, but I bought it specifically for Steampunkification, so hopefully more on that skirt to come soon…
But back to the dress, it has this gorgeous sweetheart neckline, and these really unusual back straps
I love those little details about Nomads clothing, which is how and why I found this dress. I have eBay email me whenever items match my saved search (Nomads, size S or 8, £0-£10). A word to the wise about Nomads clothing though, it’s all hand crafted stuff which means the dye is very often not fast, so handwash away from other fabrics! I wish I had taken a photo of the water after first washing this dress, it was a spectacular shade of magenta. My email alerts give me something like this. Very handy.
I get a lot of joy and satisfaction from little luxuries.
